Listeners are believed to hear the Hum[the Hum](the-hum) (the vibration felt throughout Deshret), which Sepulchre[Sepulchre](sepulchre) teaches is the breath of Saint Marrow himself, more clearly and more constantly than anyone else. The Gift is rare, and as far as… the public doesn't hold a clear cut answer.
* Sepulchre's doctrine: The Art is sacred power, made into physical law through ritual and faith.
* The heretical/technological view: held by scholars bordering on heresy, that the Art is an undocumented, unknown interface for something called the Abzu.
* The clinical view: some Mythos[Mythos](mythos) physicians propose the Gift is an altered, mutated nervous system, a consequence of surface exposure.
