Use handset calls, messages, contacts, and web links.

Open the handset menu. Aliases: handset and phone.

hs <number> [command]

If you carry more than one handset, hs list numbers them and shows each one's Handset ID and signal. Put a number first to use that handset: hs 2 opens the second one, and hs 2 text Mara hello sends from it. You can also use a Handset ID, like hs ^K3M7QP messages. With no number, hs uses the first handset that has signal, and hs answer goes to the handset that is ringing.

Call a contact or Tessera ID. Use hs redial to call the last number.

Answer an incoming call. Aliases: hs pickup and hs pick_up.

Decline an incoming call.

End the active call.

hs speak

hs speak <message>

Speak during the active call.

hs text

hs text <contact/ID/@match> <message>
hs msg <contact/ID/@match> <message>

Send a text message. hs msg works the same as hs text. A match's
handle works as a name.

Example: hs text Mara On my way.

hs r <message>

Text back whoever last texted you or left you a voicemail.

hs recent

hs recent [<contact/ID/@match>]
hs log [<contact/ID/@match>]

Print your newest 30 messages, oldest first. This covers texts, voicemails,
match notices, group invites, and group messages, except from muted groups.
Printed messages count as read.

With a name, it prints your newest 30 lines with that person instead.

hs beep

hs beep [on/vibrate/off]

Set the sound your handset makes when a message arrives or a call comes in.
On beeps and rings, and the room hears it. Vibrate buzzes for you
only. Off makes no sound, and a message still prints and a call still
shows on your handset. Without a word, it shows your setting. hs silent,
hs vibrate, and hs loud are shortcuts.

Keep your handset quiet for one person. Their messages still arrive and
print, but your handset does not beep, and the room does not hear it. hs mute
with no name turns every beep off. See hs beep.

hs blocked

Block someone's handset. Their texts, voicemails, calls, photos, and group
invites stop reaching you, and they are not told. Their old messages are
hidden until you unblock them. Blocking a match also ends the match. Messages
in a group you both belong to still arrive. hs blocked lists who you have
blocked and muted.

A number belongs to a handset. Someone with a new handset has a new number.

hs voicemail <contact/ID> <message>

Leave a voicemail for a contact or Tessera ID. The recipient reads it under
hs voicemails.

Open your saved voicemail inbox. Select a voicemail to read or delete it.

Open your message history. Select a conversation to read it. Voicemails are
marked [VOICEMAIL]. Texts you have read expire after 48 hours. Texts you
have not read expire after 30 days.

Open your contacts.

hs save

hs save <ID> as <name>

Save a Tessera ID as a contact.

hs remove

hs remove <name>

Remove a contact.

hs ringtone

hs ringtone [<text>]

Set or clear your ringtone text.

Open the matchmaking screen. Once you match with someone, text them with
hs text @<handle> <message>. Your matches are also listed under
hs contacts.

Do what the screen does without opening it. requests lists who is waiting,
view reads a profile, and block also blocks their handset. Browsing
profiles and editing your own stay in the screen.
