Build, switch on, look after and drive robots and drones.

A machine nobody is driving is a heavy object. You can pick it up with get, put it down with drop, hand it over with give and carry it with haul. A heavy one takes several people. A machine you buy is registered to you.

robot status

robot status [<machine>]

Show a machine's power, heat, fitted parts, empty slots and open repair jobs.

robot on

robot on <machine>
robot off <machine>

Switch a machine on or off. It will not switch on while a part it needs is missing. Driving a machine from a rig switches it on for you.

robot fit

robot fit <part> to <machine>
robot fit <part> in <slot> of <machine>

Fit a part you are carrying. Without a slot, the part goes in the first empty slot that takes it. The machine must be switched off, and fitting takes a roll.

robot remove

robot remove <slot> from <machine>
robot remove <module> from <slot> of <machine>

Take a part out of a slot, or a module out of a part. The machine must be switched off.

robot check

robot check <part> on <machine>

Find out what is wrong with a part. It needs a toolkit, takes a few seconds, and opens a repair job if it finds a fault.

robot patch

robot patch <part> on <machine>

Hold a badly damaged part together with a patch kit. The part works again, but not as well.

robot repair

robot repair <part> on <machine>

Repair a part you have checked. It needs a workshop, a mechanic's or diagnostic kit, and the materials the check named.

robot tune

robot tune <part> on <machine>

Tune a part so it works at its best. It needs a diagnostic kit.

robot overhaul

robot overhaul <part> on <machine>

Rebuild a part as good as new. It needs a workshop, the workshop toolset and a rebuild kit.

robot charge

robot charge <machine>

Charge the battery of a machine that is switched off. It needs a workshop or a charging dock.

robot inspect

robot inspect <machine>

Look a machine over and list the faults on its parts. It takes ten seconds. The owner can inspect a machine far away if it has a long-range radio.

robot name

robot name <machine> as <name>

Give a machine a name. Only its owner can.

robot load

robot load <thing> on <machine>
robot unload <thing> from <machine>

Put something you are carrying on a machine's rack, or take it off. Only the owner can, unless the machine has no owner. While you are driving a machine, robot load <thing> loads what it is holding and robot unload <thing> sets it down.

robot paint

robot paint <machine> <colour>
robot paint <machine> stripe <colour>
robot unpaint <machine> [stripe]

Paint a switched-off machine, or sand the paint off. Painting needs a can of paint in that colour, and the can is used up.

robot register

robot register <machine>
robot unregister <machine>

Register a switched-off machine to yourself, or clear its registration. Only a registered owner can change it.

robot transfer

robot transfer core from <machine> to <machine>

Move the control unit, with its registration, between two switched-off machines.

robot failsafe

robot failsafe <hold/stop/off> on <machine>

Choose what the machine does when the signal is lost: stand still, come to a stop, or switch itself off.

robot pair

robot pair <rig link> to <machine>
robot unpair <rig link>

Pair a rig link you are carrying to a switched-off machine, or clear its pairing. A rig link opens a connection to its machine when it is slotted into a dive rig.

robot install-remote

robot install-remote <controller> on <vehicle>
robot remove-remote <vehicle>

Fit a remote driving kit to a vehicle, or take it out. This needs a garage and the vehicle switched off.

Show the status of the machine you are driving.

robot chip

robot chip <list/slot/unslot>

List, slot or take out the skill chips in the machine you are driving.

robot overdrive

robot overdrive <on/off>

Let the machine do one thing its limits would refuse. A part is damaged when it does.

robot disguise

robot disguise <on/off>

Make a machine pass as a person. It needs a human-shaped frame, synthetic skin, a speaker and a social chip.
