In the game: help cabiri Also house cabiri automachoi the cabiri
The Cabiri: the slum fraternity of mechanics and rogue engineers who believe nothing has a final form.
Nothing Is Finished
The Cabiri are a loose fraternity of mechanics, fabricators, bodyworkers, and rogue engineers who run Suburba's mechanical level.
Vulcani venerates mastery and the perfection of craft. The Cabiri hold that nothing has a final form. Anything broken can be remade, anything obsolete can be given another life, and a thing's purpose can always change if you have the skill. To them, transformation itself is the holy act.
Their workshops are part garage and part shrine, full of cannibalised machinery and the dead parts of old projects. Joining is informal, secretive, and very cult-like, and each master passes down their own version of the Cabiri rites along with the practical know-how.
The Automachoi
The belief reaches their own flesh. The most devoted Cabiri modify themselves without end: replacing healthy limbs, grafting on tools, reinforcing bone, splicing muscle, and building scavenged machines into themselves, just to see what they can become. These are the Automachoi, the fraternity's muscle. They are grotesque chrome patchworks of mismatched prosthetics, exposed mechanisms, and deliberately excessive bodywork, each one a project still in progress. After decades, some barely look human. They guard the workshops, recover stolen property, and deal with anyone foolish enough to get in the fraternity's way.
