House Drepane: devoted servants of Symphony's digital gods, who live for beauty, drama, and spectacle.
The Gods Are Real
The executives of Symphony, or gods, as they call themselves, are very real. They mostly live in the digital world, but they appear wherever they please. Each has their own department: Apollo runs the broadcasts, Aphrodite the fashion and pleasure lines, Ares the violence, and so on.
Drepane is the House that serves them, and has since the pantheon first appeared. They are the most fanatical of anyone in their worship of these digital beings, bordering on heresy, and they have bought into it completely.
Dead Arts
Drepane halls look like something out of the Odyssey. They keep dead arts alive, in a city that would not otherwise need them: theatre, rhetoric, verse, and philosophy. Their symposia are famous. Every child born to Drepane is raised to be worthy of at least one god's attention.
Spectacle
Drepane are obsessed with beauty, spectacle, drama, and pleasure. To a Drepane, a life that is not witnessed did not happen. A Drepane is usually the most vibrant person in the room and makes the grandest entrance. They always stand out, and they throw the best parties.
Performers, duellists, orators, and beautiful disasters are right at home with Drepane. So are the wild divers who want to worship digital gods.
Bastards of House Drepane take the surname Bell.
