Words your character would know, from Abzu to yeoman.

Type help glossary/<word> to read one entry, for example help glossary/sixer.

abzu

The Abkal's name for Nous, used by many unguilded divers too. It carries the sense of another realm, closer to a spirit world than a machine, so those who see Nous that way tend to call it Abzu. See help glossary/nous and help diving.

The residential district of the sixers, the guild members.

babble

The pidgin language of Suburba.

the burning

The catastrophe about 400 years ago that scorched the surface and drove the survivors underground. The calendar counts from it, so the year is 386 AC.

church of the nine

The official name of the city's one religion, run by Sepulchre. See help religion.

A follower of the Church of the Nine.

nisabic

The language of government records and archives.

The government of Deshret, dominated by the nine Great Houses.

palatine

The district of the Great Houses and the elite, at the very bottom of the city. Also called the deeps.
