In the game: help house varga Also varga
House Varga: the feral nobles who keep the city's great hunting ground and breed the stock that splicing needs.
Where the Genestock Comes From
Mythos may own gene-splicing, but that leaves a question: where does the genestock come from? The answer is Varga. Every other House keeps an estate or a garden. Varga keeps a hunting ground, the largest private holding in Deshret, sealed and stocked with beasts of their own breeding. Some are licensed and sold to Mythos for splicing. The rest are hunted, and bred, for sport.
The Pack
Varga are the coarsest of the nine: fierce, feral, and more comfortable with animals and their pens than at a dinner table. The other Houses joke that you always know when a Varga is nearby by the smell. They are the savage nobles, sure that civilisation is only a costume.
Many Varga work as gladiators, bounty hunters, or trackers for the Outriders, where they feel at home hunting the next quarry. They can track anything, find anything, and maybe breed anything.
They are suspicious on the outside and loyal on the inside. Once you are part of the pack, you are part of the pack. Their closest thing to an ally among the Houses is Rook, since neither plays the games the rest of them play.
Bastards of House Varga take the surname Wilder.
