Read the command syntax in help, and name the people and things a command uses.


notation


get <object> from <container>
look [<target>]
stop <walking/following>


Type the command word as shown. Replace each word in angle brackets with
your own words. A part in square brackets is optional. A slash between words
means you type one of them. Do not type the brackets.


For example, get <object> from <container> becomes get knife from crate.


switches


<command>/<switch>


A switch changes what a command does. Type it directly after the command
word, with no space, for example @option/save.


names


Type the start of a name, or the start of each word in it. get kni finds
a knife, and look bi sw finds a big sword.


Name a person by the short description that you see, or by the name that you
gave them with recog. me is you. here is the room you are in.


more than one match


<number>-<name>
<ordinal> <name>


When more than one thing matches, the game lists them and asks which one you
mean. Type the number of your choice.


To choose before the game asks, put a number or an ordinal in front of the
name: get 2-knife, get second knife, get 2nd knife, or
get last knife. When exactly two things match, other selects the
second one.



my <name>
here <name>
worn <name>


Put a place word in front of a name to search one place only. my searches
what you carry, here searches the room, and worn searches what you
wear. Most commands accept these words.


help sections


help <topic>/<section>


Open one section of a help topic, for example help inventory/wear.
